The slider moves in preset increments, such as 25, 50, and 100 percent. This is the percentage of the actual image size that the current display size represents. 

A bold number means that the current display size has the same resolution (dot for dot) as the original image. If the picture has 
a higher resolution than your monitor, the slider’s range extends to the percentage necessary to display the image dot for dot.
